Mentorship

The mentorship program application is now officially closed—thank you to everyone who applied. We’re thrilled by the response so stay tuned for a new submission window this fall!

The goal is to provide support, guidance, industry insight and networking opportunities by experienced professionals to aspiring animation workers, experienced workers facing employment challenges, or those seeking to change crafts. The program also aims to provide support and guidance for underrepresented workers and those facing socio-economic disadvantages by offering mentorship.

Length
  • Three-month commitment, with the option of extending to six months, beginning from the initial group meeting. Bi-monthly contact (in person or via zoom) based on mentor’s availability, with a two-hour minimum commitment per month.
Structure
  • The program will consist of one-on-one mentorship, group mentorship, additional training sessions, wraparound services, and networking opportunities.
  • Mentees will begin their mentorship program with a group meeting that outlines expectations, services, and additional information.
  • Mentors will attend a short training meeting before they are paired with a Mentee.
  • Mentees are required to attend one training class or session (of their choice) and one panel or networking opportunity during their mentorship program.

Tracking Progress:
  • The Mentorship Team Coordinator will check in with Mentor and Mentee monthly to confirm they are meeting and achieving goals.
  • Mentor and Mentee will be required to complete a short survey upon completion of the program.
